The ordinary weekly meeting of the Otago Land Board, held on Wednesday, was *ttcrded by Commissioners W. Dallas (in the chair), H. Cl.irk, John Duncan, and H. H.

Kirkpatrick.

Andrew Hesta, jun., applied for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act, 1894," over 100 ceres in block IV, Kawarau district.— Declined.

William Perriam applied for an occupation lease under the same act over 100 acres in b.cck 111, Kawarau district.— Declined.

\V. L. Jolly applied for a lease in perpetuity over 200 acres in block IX, Kawarau district.— Declined.

Ranger Mackenzie fo. warded valuation of timber on area of 10 acres over which James Dunery had been gratited a sawmill license, Turnei's Creek, Dart River —Adopted.

Ranger Mackenzie forwarded valuation of improvements on Run i\o. 419, Kinloch.— Valuation of £6 14s 3d approved.

Catherine Felton applied foi an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act, 1894, ' over 30 acres at Prospect Flat Leaning Rock district.— Granted, tubject to survey and probable reduction of frontage at Is per acre.

C. M'Laren applied for exempcion from residence on section Ba, Puketapu Estate, for a time. — Granted during tho pleasure of the board.

Bridget O'Neill renewed her application for on area on Patearoa run. — Held over.

Anthony Blanchard applied for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land) Occupation Act, 1894,'' over section~6o, block IX, Maruwenua district. The warden forwarded a report.— Granted at a rent of 10a per annum.

Mr M. M'Lean forwarded a report on the complaint made by the Tuapeka County Council about the board having granted or leased! to private persons the gravel reserves applied! for by the county, but declined.— Council to bo informed that none of the reserves applied for by them have been dealt with by the board.

James Morrison wrote in regard to the board's notice requiring him to show cause why his lease in perpetuity over section 15a, Barnego Settlement, should not be declared forfeited .—Received.

The Stock Deparement applied Jor a' portion of the tailings reserve, opposite sections 36 and 39, Town of Kornako. as" a paddock for stock.— Referred to the ranger for report. The board fixed the upset price of sections 1, 2, 3, 4, block, XLIV, Town of Pembroke, at 25s per section, and classified the sections as suburban land.

Cruickshank, Otepctoo district; James Frasor, Budle district; Robert AliUer, Otago Peninsula.— Licenses declared lapsed for ncn-payment of rent ' TTT° h i? *f eade a PpHed tor section 3, block ; fix, Poolburn district, as rurai land on lease , - in perpetuity.— Approved. 1 Andrew Jopp applied for a pastoral license , over Run No. 221c— Approved 1 William Beck and Charles Beck applied to transfer to Arthur Jones section 25, block f VI, Naseby district, held on lease in per- | petuity, the former being administrators in i the estate of the late James Beck.— Approved , The agent for the Public trustee in the estate of Alexander Neil (deceased) applied , to transfer to John Kennedy Neil section > 6 , block XIV, Rimu district,' held on o.r.p ; license.— Approved.

Ranger Mackenzie forwarded valuation of improvements on the land at Frankton recently occupied by F. M'Bride.— Valuation at *3 6s approved.

Brodrick and Chalmer, on behalf of Patrick Scott, applied for a grazing license over plantation reserve, section 2, block 111, Poolburn district.— Referred to the ranger for report. "W. L. . Simpson, on behalf of Hugh H. Watson, applied for an occupation lease under '" The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act 1894," over 100 acres at Sprinvale, Moutere run.— Held over.

The Receiver of Land Revenue reports that the following whose holdings were declared forfeited hay* now paid arrears:— James Patterson and R. A. Clarke-Forfeiture rescinded.
