— . o — A'iTITTJDE OF ADMIRAL FANSHAWE. SYDNEY, March 18. Admiral Fanshawe, in a letter in reply to a petition from the Western Suburb* Ministerial Association asking for :.n inquiry into Cardinal Moran's allegations against British officers and sea nici in Samoa, says that it is impossible for him to take any notice of slanderous and ridiculous attacks made by irresponsible persons on the character of the officers and men of the Royal Navy. Such attacks can only be "treated with the contempt they deserve. The Admiral considers that the characters of the officers and men of the navy are too well known to suffer any harm from such scurrilous j statements. |
