CORRESPONDENCE.

I must apologise to my Oamarama correspondent for having kept him waiting so long. My readers may remember that I gave them a liberal dose of "The Unspeakable Scot," and of the retort, "The Unspeakable Crosland." Aly correspondent says: — "I suppose you will give us a fair supply of ' The Egregious Englishman' just published. After nine years' residence in the States, can you explain how among the masses I invariably found the Englishman coldshouldered while the Scot and Irishman were hail fellow, well met?" "The Egregious Englishman" didn't arrive in Dunedin until last week, and I haven't read it yet. One,^ however, whose judgment is, I think, a goo&.-one, says he thinks it is written by the same man who wrote "The Unspeakable Scot" ! I myself thought that the writer of "The Unspeakable Scot" was "pulling the Scotsman's leg," and making the shekels at the same time. If I think it worth while. I'll read "The Egregious Englishman " and give my readers a few samples.
