DUNEDIN HOMING PIGEON CLUB,

The above club held a race on Saturday, Hth, from Studholnie Junction, a distance of 85 miles air-hne. This race waa for young birds bred this season. Mr J. Blacke's Mist secured first place, making a velocity of 1180 yards per. minute. Mi H. Short's Snowdrop came in second, with a velocity of 1114 yarda I foot per minute; and Mr R. Douglas's Cyclone third, with a velocity of 1103 yards pel minute. Tho race -was fairly representative, there being 15 birds in it, which is- a credit to the-conipetitor-s for having young birds equal to the distance. The club intends flying another race next Saturday from Edendale, and hopes- to have a, larger number than m last race. TJie time for receiving nominations for the Sheffield and other handicaps at the Clyde Sports Club's Easter niPeting, at which £d 0 will be given in priz^ money, has been exterded till the 28th inst.
