OTAGO LAND BOARD.

The regular meeting of the Otago Land Board was held on Thursday morning, there being present Messrs D. Barron (chief commissioner), Clark, Dallas, and Kirkpatrick. The board was requested to determine a3 to how pastoral run section 28, block VII, Table Hill district, passed in at last auction sale, should be dealt with. — Run to be offered at an upset rental of £S per annum. The Waitaki and "Waihemo County Councils forwarded statements of proposed expendituie of "thirds" and "fourths'' for period 7th October, 1902, to 3rd Januaiy, 1903.— Approved. The Receiver of Land Revenue forwarded a memo, in regard to coal lease No. 1370, held by John Willctts, section 76, block VIII. and James Wilson applied for a grazing license over the " Spit reserve," Upper, "Wakatipu district.—Granted to applicants in trust for residents of the locality. Neil Nfcolaon, president of the St. Bathans Racing Club, wrote asking that an area of about 100 acres on Keenan's run, St. Bathans, be set aside as a racecourse reserve. — Held over for further consideration. Ranger M'Dougall forwarded an application from J. B. M. Templeton to be allowed to erect a house and make a garden on reserve No. 2247, Makarora.— Granted. | G. H. Paul wrote withdrawing his applica-. tion for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act, 1894," over 15 acres of Moutere run, Leaning Rock district. — Agreed to. The Town Clerk, Arrowtown, wrote stating : that the approach to the Arrow footbridge was being blocked, and asked that the ranger be sent to look into the matter.— Referred to ranger for report. John Ewing wrote in regard to application made by "William Mills for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act, 1694," over 100 acres on run 226, St. Bathans. — Received. The board considered the application by Martin 'Franklin to purchase 2 acres adjoining the south-east corner of section 65, block VI, Tuapeka West district. The warden forwarded a report.— Application granted; capital value, £2 per acre ; survey fees to be deposited. James Henry Truesdale applied for 100 acres on Matakanui run on lease-in-perpetuity, adjoining section 9, block VII, Lauder district. — Held over. ' Rcdeiick Poison wrote in Tegard to capital value of sections 1 and 2, block 111, Tarras district.— Referred to ranger for report. T. D. M'Lcvie wrote applying for an area on run No. 226, St. Bathans, to bring his holding up to 100 acres.— Held over. The board considered the application by Cornelius O'Gorman to purchase 3S acres adjoining section 65, block VI, Tuapeka West district. The warden forwarded a report.—Referred to Mr M'Lean for report. 'Mr M. M'Lean reported on the application by Mrs M. Young for a more permanent title over 15 acres, at present held by her tinder yearly license in block VI, Tuapeka West district.—Referred to ranger for report. Ranger Mackenzie forwarded a report and valuation of improvements on section 27, block I, Upper "Wakatipu district. — To be re-offered at a, capital value of 7s per acre, burdened with valuation for improvements, £16. Fred. Smith, on behalf of the Presbyterian Church Board of Property, applied for an areaof 10 acres in the southern corner of section 276, block I, Blackstone district.— Land applied for to be notified under clause 240 of the Land Act, and offered for sale after the lapse of Hiree months. Application for small grazing run: — Murdoch Macdonald, run 199h, Teviit district. — Approved. Application for rural land under Land for Settlements Act:— D. L. M'Coll, jun., section sa, block VIII, Duncan settlement, Dunedin and East Taieri district. — Approved. Application for renewal of miscellaneous license in new name: — L. B.
