PINE HILL.

The annual distribution of prizes took place at the Pine Hill School on Friday, 19th inst. Mr R. S. Gardner, who presided, gave some sound advice to the school children. An address was also given by Mr D. Cameron, an old friend to the school. The following is 'the prize-list: —

Standard 111. — Bertie Westhead, James Fox, G-eorge "Woods, Maggie Campbell, Isa Campbell, Christina Anderson. Standard II. — Athol Carrington, Roland Chipps, Flossie Bell. Special Prizes. — Good conduct and diligence (Mr Carrington's prize), Walter Richards. Most popular girl (Mr John Campbell's prize), Frances Campbell. Most popular boy (Mr John Campbell's prize), Charles Anderson. Most proficient Standard VI pupil (Mr John Campbell's prize), John Dunn. Most painstaking pupil (Mr Islip's prize), Ernest Carrington. Best two pupils in composition, Standard 111 (Mr D. Cameron's prizes), Kate Woods, Isa Campbell. Best two pupils in reading, Standard II (Mr D. Cameron's .prizes), Walter Richards, Athol Carrington. Good conduct and diligence (Mr Fox's prizes), Dorothy Campbell, Haa-old Carrington.
