CHRISTCHURCH, December 16. The Christchurch Cycling Club's Now* Zealand- Wheel Race meeting at Lancaster Park to-day was attended by - over 4000 persons. Capital racing was witnessed. * George Sutherland won the New Zealand Wheel Ra«e (first prize £50) in fine style from the scratch mark, ' John Connell, s Temuka (120 yds), and M:- Brunette,' Feild-' ing (120 yds), being second and third respectively. There were 33 starters.' Time, 4min 40sec. The Mayoress invested ■ Sutherland ■ with a blue sash as a badge of victory' after his win.
