THE D.J.C SUMMER MEETING.
Good acceptances have been received for the fii-3t day of tho Dunedin Jockey Club's summer meeting, and there is every indtcatioD of the club experiencing a highly successful meeting. In this the club should be greatly assisted by having such an excellent day as Boxing Day for the opening day of the meeting. The majority of the horses who have accepted have already arrived, and some first-class sport should be provided during the day. In the Hurdles, Maiden PJate, Welter, Hack, Salisbury Plate, and Federal Handicap largo fields have cried content, and, 'taken on the whole, the acceptances show a decided improvement on what was received for last year's summer meeting. The folloAving may run prominently in their racos : — Hurdles : The Earl 1, Southerly Buster 2. Dunpfl'i Handicap: Sychem. First !^Ack: St. Monioa 1, Forward Guard 2. Ohigo Handicap: Canteen, Lady Lillian. Maiden Plate: Punamu 1, Kotokoto 2. Federal Handicap : Vladimir 1, Petrovna Z Salisbury Plate: Goldspur 1, Red Gauntlet 2. Welter Handicap : Ardnarff 1, Glenelg 2.
