The programme for the annual prize meet* ing of the New Zealand Rifle Associatioa has been issued. The meeting opens at' Trentham on Thursday, "March 5, acd £1015 is offered in prizes, exclusive of trophies. The King's Prize takes the place of tho Champion Match, the condition* being that the 50 highest aggregates in the Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Canterbury, and Otago Matches fire a final stage (700 yds, 15 shots) to decide who holds the Belt In the (matches mentioned a certain amount of prize-mtjney is allotted to tyroE — that is, men. who have never won a prize at any N. 2. Rifle Association meeting. The service matches include snap-shooting, cover match. Volunteer matches." carbine match, defence cadet -match, rapid-firing mat oh, disappear- " ing target match, and carbine snap-shooting. The ' team matches include volley firing, rapid firing competitions, companies' team? matches. Ammunition and sighting shots are to be supplied free. A competitor must. ■ use only the class of weapon with whicl his corps or club is armed. Magnifying sights, artificial rests, shading or sheltering^ or assistance of any kind when firing >i prohibited. Orthoptics will be allowed in Belt matches only. Competitors will not be allowed to use any kind of oil or grease as a lubricant for the bullet. ■:
