Myia Taylor, a married woman belonging to the Thamrs »,i, on Thursday charged with the attempted murder of her former lover, Michael Whelan, on tho «ye of Lib marriage. Accused pleaded "Not guilty." Whelan gave ewdouce describing the accused's attack ujyon him. She was dressed in man's clothes, and fired at him with a revolver on the night of August 26, outside his mother's house. Accused watched the witness during his evidence with a cynical expression. He admitted that the accused had lent him money, but never as much as £20. The jury returned a verdict of "Not guilty," and the accused was discharged. Electric trams started riuiniug on Mcsiday. Many horses uere terrified at ihe appearance of the car.-. One horfe slipped, fell on its rider, and broke the latter' 6 leg. Another horse stopped bolting as it wat entering the door of a hotel.
