PARIS, November &. The award in the Pas de Calais miners' dispute is against an increase in wages, which, under the Arras agreement, must follow the price of coal. 1 November 7. Tlie arbitrators did not award the miners au increase in wages, but the companies conceded an appreciable advantage in the matter of old-age pensions. November <5. Six thousand of the colliers on strike at Pas de Calais refuse to accept the award of the arbitrators, and will continue the strike. .The French Chamber of Commerce has appointed a committee of 33 members to investigate the causes of the coal strikes. NEW YORK, November 5. President Roosevelt's Commission visited the Shanokm Mines. Mr Mitchell submitted the miners' demands, which are identical with th"o=e formulated at the Shanokin Convention in i March at the outset of the strike.
