CFeojc Ora Own Cobrespoitdent.) GORE, November 6. A live-bird'shooting match was held yesterday at Gore for a stake of 40sovs. The day was gusty, and the shooting, considering that circumstance, was remarkably good. There were 17 competitors, and five tied with seven birds in a nomination each. The five " ties" divided 25sovs of the stake, and shot off for the ba-lance of £15. M. Dawson (24yds) fell out in the first round, Pigeon (25yds) in the next, a-nd J. Graham (28Jyds) in the fifth. B. ' Dunlop (24yds) and E. P. Graham (31yds) kept going to thiO ninth round, when the latter was beaten by a very fast bird,-and Dunlop annexed the stake. . Graham's pfirformance in downing 15 birds consecutively (Wi.th one break) with the first barrel off the 31yds mark was remarkably good. A sweepstake match was also held, M'Gavock (Invercargil.) being the winner, and annexing £5.
