NEWS OF SICK TROOPERS. AUCKLAND. September 12.
Troopers Parker, of Gi^borne (whose life was for a long time despaired of in the Auckland Hospital), and Manson, of Wellington (whose life was apparently saved by an operation for empyema, which Dr Gordon performed, involving the removal of a rib), are this morning reported both, out of danger. The cases of Blacklock and Shellock do not show any improvement yet. All the other patients are convalescent.
Last week Mr Wiee, the New South Wales Attorney-general, entertained 400 poor children at the Chippendale Mission Hall, Sydney, a. musical programme being arranged by Mrs Wise.
Two prisoners, with a number of "priors'* to their discredit, who were found guilty on. a charge of robbery in company, evidently expected a longer term of imprisonment than was imposed on them by Judge Molesworth at Melbourne the other day, and ati the conclusion of his Honor's remarks surprised everyone in court by heartily shaking hands with one another in the deck.
