Th-e evidence showed that Culshaw had gone to where Hutchison was in conversation with some friends, and, calling him aside, had struck him on fehe eye. The blow caused Hutchison to fall, with the result that he sustained a fracture of the skull, which caused his death. For the defence it was alleged that Cuiehaw had struck the deceased because of an insulting proposal which the latter had made to a woman with whpm Culshaw was living.
