The Neve Freie Presse states that President Roosevelt's speech on the Monroe Doctrine is a menace directed against Great Britain, and is America's answer to the Colonial Premiers' Conference.
BERLIN, August 30. President Roosevelt's speech on the Monrce Doctrine has caused a flutter in the German press, which energetically repudiates designs on Venezuela or Brazil, attributing the suggestion to Great Britain's 'desire to create bad blood between Germany and America.
