Our Wellington correspondent telegraphs : " It is stated in the lobbies thai tho Government wore asked to support, the candidature of Mr R. ChishoJm for Dunedin City, but doc-lived to do so. Mr Chisholin was, however, urged to content tho Taieri electorate. There «eems to be a doubl in the minds of some of tlio Taieri electors as to whether or 'not Mr .1. H. London, of Abbotsford, will stand at the next general. election.
