Blenheim, Auguat 12. Dear Pasquin, — A few lines io let you know we are still booming merrjly along to bigger business than ever we • did on the road. Despits the winter months, wo have had extraordinary luck m the way of fine weather. The present programme is certainly the strangest we have yet presented to the public. We have just completed the whole of the North Island, and are just starting* a West: Coast tour, opening her.? last night to », splendid house.
Our fine pictures of the "Marvellous. Craggs, ' "Cinquevalli," and "Paul Martinetti's Troupe" are big drawing crowds everywhere. I have added a new "coon" turn and a lady contra-lto (Miss Frances Beverley) tc the company. Both arc grea-t successes. Mj Harry jxall, eonisdian, ha<3 (after being witr. me for four years) decided to fettle down, tint is cou teni plating something in the photo graphy line. But I have been very .forhv '• nate, out of dozens of applicants, m securing * Mt Bob Hall, late of Dix"s Co., to take hie * place. He hns always been a big favourite ■• in the lnvge centres, plavrog no ieas than - seven consecutive months in Christchurch i under J-Ux's banner. I think he will suit m?-" audiences down to the. ground. I am making; tt big hit with the military song, "Tonnny/' ■ illustrating rt with some splendid animatedpictures; while my other new songs have th« finest coloured views ever thrown on a* screen. After finishing the Coast the &how> will be entirely refitted with fresh pictures, and songa for a final trip through New Zealand, prior to our departure for Tasmania and Victoria.
We are receiving a most complete selection mi scenes cf the Coronation, naval review, Mr Seddon, and the Colonial Contingents about the middle of September, and may be visiting jonr city shortly after that. Trusting you an all O. K., — I am, yours sincerely,
EDMUND MONTGOMERY,
Montgomery's Entertainers.
