SERVICE FOR THE PEOPLE. August 11.

The King and Queen, members of the Royal Family, Ministers, and functionaries of State attended a simple and impressive thanksgiving service at Marlborough Chapel.

What was essentially a people's s-er-vice of thanksgiving was held in St. Paul's, and was attended by Princess Beatrice and children, the Duchesses of Fife and Albany, diplomatists, and many peers, the Lord Mayor of London, and Sheriff. The music comprised portions of the Abbey service. The Bishop of London preached.
