The secretary of the Welcome Company reports a return this week from the dredge of 16oz 9dwt for 89 hours' work.
CHRISTCHURCH, July 24.
The Al Company's dredge has resumed work.
At a meeting of the provisional directors of the Glenroy Gold Dredging Company, held in this city last night, the shares were allotted, and Mr C L. Russell was appointed permanent secretary. The master of the Greenstone Creek Company's dredge, reporting under date July 21, states that the dredge is putting through a fair quantity of wash, which is not of such a light character aa it has been. He expects a slightly increased return this week. The master of the Grey River Extended Company's dredge reports under date July 21 that he was detained last week, having to effect necessary repairs. He has got Eolid wash about 150 ft across the face, and lie thinks it will widen a3 ho vrorks ahead. He expects the return this week will be between 12cz and 13oz if all goes well, and there will be a corresponding increase next week.
