WELLINGTON, July 25
In reply to inquiries by the Government the following cable message from Major Piloher, dated Capetown, Thursday, has been received: — '"Major Jackson and Captain Mitehel sailed by the Montrose with th-3 Tenth Contingent from Durban on the 15th. No. 658 M'Clomgle. at Johannesburg, is well. No. I*lß Kelfand is convalescent, on his way to Capetown. Ernest Eakor is convalescent at Eland*fontein. No. 33*0 Atkins is progressing favourably at Newcastle. Veteriaary-Eurgeon Mathews is recovering; he is likely to sail on the 28th wifh 20 other officers from Capetown."
WELLINGTON. July 22
The Acting-Premier received the following cable message from Colonel Davies, dated Albany, Monday : — The Britannic arrived hero yesterday with 42 officers of the Eighth Contingent, two officers and 83 other ranks of the Tenth Contingent. Regret to report No. 5493 (Corporal T. L. Deliibrossc) died on the 17th inst. of pneumonia. No. 5315 (Private Mehary) is srriou.-ly ill. Four otiiers are progresF-inq fa\ourably. All aro suffering from pneumonia. The rest are well.

The following, dated Albany, Thursday, has bpcn recr-ived by tho Commandant from Major Abbott, commanding the troops on the Ori-ent: — "The Orient arrived here this morning; trooi>s all well. Total ou beard for Australia 121, for New Zealand 63 office'ra and 1122 men, as follows: — Ninth Contingent, 62 officers and 1037 men; Sixth Contingent, 2 men; Seventh Contingent, 10 rne-n ; Kighth Contingent, 1 officer and 14 m«n ; Tenth Continent, 52 mr n For v.irioufi ports — Auckland 263, Welliiicton 293, Kelson 95, Lyttelton 261, Dunedin 263.
The Telegraph Department advises us that all censorship lias berri removed from telegrams pacing to and. from South Africa.
Hie Wor»hiu the Mayor received a telegram last evening stating tint the Orient, ■with the Ninth Contingent and a number of men bolorging to other contingents, was ccpeetftd to reach Port Chalmers on the 4th of August.
A private message received from Surereonoptain Falconer states that the Oriont arrived at Albany on Thursday night.
