The Supplementary Estimates ask for a grant of a quarter of a million in aid of the bugar industry in the West Indian colonies, to enable the Government to make free grants to growers.
In the House of Commons Lord Craubourne stated that Baron Lamberrnont, the Belgian jurist appointed by Great Britain and France as arbitrator in the Waima (West Africa) affair, had awarded Great Britain the sum of £000 for the loss of officers killed by the French force some years ago.
xii the House of Commons Mr Balfour, replying to Mr Labouchere, said that he was unaware of any ground for believing that any fiscal policy settled by the Cabinet while Sir Michael Hicks-Beach was a member would be departed from when he left office.
