CLEARING SALE AT PORT MOLYNEUX.
Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Limited) report having held a clearing sale on account of Mr Jas. Stevens, of Port Molyneux, who has lately sold his farm and is leaving the district. There was a very large gathering of farmers from the mii rounding district, and as a, great many of tkara. warn JatSßi Sfl bufliaefia the sale was •
most satisfactory one. Thu main attraction of the sale was Mr Stevens' s herd of dairy cows, which, judging by the prices realised, nmst have had a good reputation. For three cows, Just calved and at the calving, £10, £9, and £9 were obtained, whiie the spring calvers realised from £5 to £H 7s 6d, the whole herd of 24 cows averaging £6 15s per head. Rising two-vear-old heifers, in calf, brought £4 7s 6d to £5 12s Gd; draught horses, to £42; implements and sundries satisfactory prices.
