LADY WARD AT HOME. There was a very gay scene at the Ministerial residence in Tinaiori road this afternoon on fch« occasion of an '" at home, to Which Lady Ward had invited h-pr friende. The spacioui rooms w*Te filled to overflowing, no fewer than 600 guests having been invited. A dainty tea wa? served in two of the rooms, which were prettily decorated. A string band orovided music, and •were given by Sir Joseph and Miss Ward, ML33 Parson, and Mr iione Heke, M.H.R The function was a decided sucee°«, and an evidence of the popularity of the ho&i and hostess in Wellington.
