DUNEDIN BURNS CLUB.
The Choial Hall was wellfiHed on th<> 10']., the occasio.i bemg the monthly gatlnrin™ of members of the Burn"; Club. Piper Moikltjohn's bagpipe music intioduced the programme, and then cainc tlic item " Chairman's remarks." Mr Ram«ay (tlie president* did not take up a great deal of time, but contented himself by announcing the receipt of a letter from Lord Glasgow, who is an honorary member of the club, and who wrote acknowledging receipt of a copy of the club's la=t annual report. Lorn Glasgow referred in kindly teims to his pleasant lecollections of a meeting of the club, which he attended when in th-> colony, and expressed his regret at the death of Mr A. J. Bums and other old members. During the evening the president also intimated ih nt since their !a«t meeting Mr Paterson, of St. Kilda, v very old member of Ike club, had :lied, and the secretary was m-tiuoted to cojvey the condolences of the club tc the beiea\ed lelatives. The conceit programme was then entered on, and the following \otal items were given — "The Old Ccuntiee, Mi -a Thomson, "Jessie, the fiouiroi DumbUne," Mi Emngton , " Com in' t'l-o 1 the i\e and " Doon the burn," Mrs ll<r\'v ' Ihrio wa=> a lad" and "Highlander--, .s/iouldei to fe'.iou'der," Mr J. Jago ;

Laujic," Mr B. Black. Mr W. R. Don was, as usual, in charge of the concert, and. judging by their expressions of appreciation, the audience voted it more than usually successful. Several of the performers were asked for repetitions, and kindly consented to the requests. Miss E. Wright played tho accompaMinents. The address of the evening, which usual 'y goes a, long way to mike the Burns Club meeting profitable as well as entertaining, was to. have been given by Mr W. Burnett, but that gentleman was confined to his house with a cold, and was consequently unable to be present. A dance followed the concert, and a large pioportion of the members stayed to participate in it.
