Game 6274— "Fife."

(a; The "Dyke" opening, usually formed by 11 15, 22 17, 15 19. (b) Leads to a weak game for White; 26 22 is the usual play ; 26 22 is also sound. (c) 9 14 is i stronger move for Black at this stage, and takes full advantage of White's weakness. (n) If U 18 ie played here, 17 14 will draw. (c) This loses ; 32 27 draws, and leads up to ♦he- famous Wyllie-Dewar "stroke," aa follows: 32 27 22 18 17 14 28 24 9 2 14 18 15 22 10 17 S2 28 39 15 27 23 2i 8 21 14 14 « 2 tf 18 27 27 32 1 5 IS 19 At this stage 5 9 will draw, but 12 1G loses by the Wyllie-Dewar "stroke."
