PEACE DECLARED. 43a . ! THE BRITISH TERMS ACCEPTED, THE EMPIRE'S REJOICING. ENTHUSIASTIC CELEBRATION IN' DUNEDIN. HOW THE NEWS WAS RECEIVED IN THE COLONY A few minut63 before 10 o'clock, on Monday morning we reiceived the following telegram from .Sir J. G. Ward, Acting-Premier, who conveyed similar intimation ro local and public bodies from one end of the colony to the other: "South African War. — It is with inten?e pleasure that I advise you., that I have just received intimation that peace has been declared." Lord Kitchener wired to his Excellency the Governor from Pretoria, under data June 1, as faiiou" : — i "Peace signed last night. — Kitchexeh."
