THE QUEENSLAND BUSHRANGERS,
BRISBANE, May 27. | A report from Mitchell states that a party of police surprised the Kenniffs on Friday while camped at the edge of a big scrub. They almost cordoned them, but the fugitives espied them and escaped into the bush. The police had no black trackers, and were unable to follow them, but they captured the horses, saddles, and a quantity of ammunition. Subsequently two horses were stolen in the district. The Kenniffs shot a horse just as the police came up. The captured horses are those in connection with which Dalke and Doyle were pursuing the Kenniffs. Besides a large quantity of revolver and rifle cartridges, the police secured a number of saddles, bridles, and a stock of food.
