DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB.
The monthly meeting of the D.J.C. Committee, held on 27th ult., was attended by the Hon. G. M'Lean (in the chair), Messrs S. Solomon, R. Evritig, and G. B. Bullock. Apologies were received from Messrs W. H. Taggart, J. Mills, W. B. Vigers, S. Myers, and W. J. Coughlau. Thos. Buddicomb was voted an allowance from the jockeys' fund, he being still under the doctor's treatment for injuries received by an accident at "Wyndham. The disqualification of W. M'Kay (jockey) by the Riverton Racing Club for three months for suspicious riding was endorsed. The transfer of the brown colt by Lord Ro3slyn — Lady Gertrude from W. G. Stead to J. R. Thomas was passed. A letter was -received from the district engineer stating that he had bean instructed to build a new culvert on the Otago Central railway, thus ennbling the water to get off the club's property much quicker. — Received. A letter 'was received from the Taieri County Council stating that their engineer had bean instructed to have the obstruction in the Owhiro Creek removed. — Received.
A letter was received from Mr John Grindley tendering his resignation as a member of the committee and hon. judge. — Resolved that the resignation be accepted with regret, and a minute be recorded thanking him for his past services.
It was unanimously resolved that Mr P. Miller be appointed to fill the vacancy. The interim balance sheet for the May meeting, showing a profit of about £300, was placed before the committee.
It was resolved that Mr Geo Grant he accorded a vote of thanks for his services as clerk of the course at the late meeting.
