Gilfedder a banquet this month. It is expected that Sir Joseph Ward will ibe present at same. We are having very wintry weather, accompanied by heavy mists. We are Nat present having a visit from the Bey. J. R. Ward, of the Hanover street 'Baptist Ohurch, Dunedin (and late of Chicago). Mr Ward preached in the First Church last Sunday, morning and evening, to crowded congregations. Next Friday evening Mr Ward will give a- lecture at the theatre on ''The New Chivalry," which we are all looking forward to. I notice he is also going to lecture in Dunedin shortly on "The Uses of War," when. I can assure Dunedin residents they can look forward' to a real treat. Our two local bands have decided to amalgamate, and so form one strong band.
