BUNBACK.
April 7. — A cricket match "was played here fin the 29th nit. between team? from the •Macraes and Dunback Cricket Clubs. The reBult was a win for Dunback by three runs on the first innings, the scores being Dunback 57 and Macraes 54. Bain interfered a good deal .with, the play, xhe ground being slippery and the* ball being in a somewhat similar condition.
' Creamery. — A meeting of farmers and others interested was held in Melt's Junction Hotel on Saturday evening to take steps to get a creamery erected in this district. There was U fair attendance. Mr W. O. MTtellar being ,Voted to the chair. After a good deal of disjeossion as to ways and means of attaining the desired object, a committee was formed to the district, make overtures to a da^ry jcompany to start, and report at a future meeting. Some time ago a, movement -was made in this matter, but the Taieri and Peninsula ■Dairy Company asked for a guarantee of SCO jicows. This was far in exceas of the number .so the matter was allowed to fall .(through. It 'is now -thought that more cows an»y be guaranteed, and that some company in^y meet te farmers in a mere liberal manner. ' .Church Matters. — The Palmerston Presbytexian. choir have generously offered .to give- -an entertainment in the Dnnback ■Church on the 24th inst. in aid of the "building fund. The entertainment is to consist of n selection of hymns, anthems, choruses, duete, 'and solos. It is to be hoped that there will (be a good attendance, as the committee find 'it difficult to meet the demands on them, as, besides the usual expenditure, they have to pay interest on the money borrowed to pay the cost of the church, as the grant of half-cost promised by the synod two years ago is not urailable yet.
