GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKET.
Messrs D. Reid and Co. (Ltd.) report having held their weeklj auction sale of grain and produce at their stores on Tuesday. The catalogue submitted was a moderate one, and, under fair ccmpetition from a full attendance of buyers, was cleared a* satisfactory prices. Values niled as under — Oats.—Tliere is » steady demand for all good to prime feed lines, for immediate 01 forward delivery from country stations, at prices about equal to 2s 2rt to 2s 3d per bushel (ex trucks. Dunedin). Special milling and seed lines and other hues for local consumption are worth a shade more. We quote. Prime milling, -2s ■Ud to 2s 4*, d , good to best feed, 2s 2jd to -2s ;Ud, medium, 2s Id to 2s 2d per bushel (sacks extra). , Wheat.—We have strong lnqii'Ty for all classes of prime milling vheat, either new or old season's. Medium quality alac meets with ready sale aa fowl wheat, which is scarce, and for which there 11 steady demand. We quote Pnme milling, rjs 1d to 3s 6d ; good whole fowl A-li?at, 3s Id to 3s 3d, broken and damaged, 2s 10,1 to 3a. Potatoes.—There Is good inquiry for new Detwents, but sc far very few consignments hsve come to hand. Good kidneys and white potatoes are still meeting with steady demand, and in the absence of heavy stocks are readily quitted at sbphtiy advanced prices. We quotePrune quality, £2 17s 6d to £3, medium, £2 10s to £2 15a per ton (sacks in). Chaff.—The wet weather experience-! of late has caused a sharp advance in prices owing to the shortness of supplies. Prime quality meets with mo?t demand, and nearly all classes are saleable. We quotes Prime old chaff, £4 10s 1o £4 15s: best new chaff, £4 to £4 103, medium, £3 5s to £3 15s pc ton (bags extra). . . -*p.
