SEASON 1900-1901.—AVERAGES.

SENIOR CUP. Carisbrook A v. Duxedix. A miserable day greeted cricketers, and the few spectators who risked a wetting by turning out to witness the finish of the season's Cup matches at Carisbrook on Saturday afternoon. The rain held off fairly well in the morning, and if it had not become worse this match would probably have been finished ; but, as it was, only about an hour's play was put in, when the rain came down too heavily to think of continuing. With 186 runs to make and two wickets down for 11, Carisbrook's chances, although good enough on a batsman's wicket, did not look too well before starting, as the rain that had fallen made it questionable whether the ball would nip or cut through. However, the latter proved to be the case, and Rattray (the not-out man of the previous Saturday) continued with Mills, and when play was abandoned the former had scored 18 (not out) and the latter 28 (not out). "Rattray played with some of his old-time vigour, and Mills played his usual careful 'game. Latham, Rcardon, Wilkie, and Skitch all had a turn at the ball, but without success. The match thus resulted in a draw. The following are th,e detailed scores; — DCNEDIK.

Cakisbrook B v. Albiox. This match was also continued on Carisbrook, -when the Carisbrook B scored a very lucky win by getting all the Albion out before the rain came on too heavily. With 148 runs to make and no wickets down for 30 odd, the latter had a good chance of winning, but the wicket just suited Howden, who bowled with great success, securing seven wickets for 29 runs with his slow leg breaks and occasional straight one. Uttley and Cummings (the two not-out men of the previous Saturday) continued the Albion innings, and at 41 the former played one back to Howden. Cummings followed at 51, being clean bowled. Geddes saw Hunter and Cramond succumb to Howden, and then was caught off a mishit himself. M'Kay made the only stand of the latter part of the innings, and was batting confidently when he was caught by Adams, who brought off a difficult catch. The innings closed for 88 just immediately after the other team had retired owing to the wet. The following are the detailed scores: Carisbrook B. First Innings. Albion. — First innings. Major Wardill states that the Australian team may return through America, or South Africa if the war is over, and will likely go round New Zealand before returning. DEPARTURE OF THE ENGIJSH AND AUSTRALIAN TEAMS. ADELAIDE, March 21. Maclaren's English and the Australian cricket teams departed by the s.s. Omrah. They received a great send-off.
