DUNEDIN HIDE MARKET.
Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows. — We held our fortnightly sale on Friday. Our catalogue was a small one, and with a solitary exception consisted of light and medium weight country hides. There waa the i sual attendance of buyers, but competition waa less brisk than of late, and prices were on the whole a shade easier. We sold one prime 641b ox hide at 5d per lb, and a shade more than this — say, up to SJd — would be given for extra prime lines of stout ox hides weighing, say, 651b to 70lb dry salted. We quote as follows : — Prime stout ox, heavy, 5d to 5Jd per lb; prime ordinary ox, 4Jd to 4Jd; medium ox, 3£d to 4d; .light ox, 3d to 33d; prime cow, 3Jd to 4Jd ; medium, 3jd to 3Jd ; light, 3d to 3Jd.
