WELLINGTON, January 30. Some time ago Lord Ranfurly was asked by the Government to concent to serve for a second period as Governor of this colony. His Excellency agreed to- -"accept an extension of his term by ccie year, and the Secretary for the Colonies has signified his Majesty's approval of the commission being extended. The period will therefore expire in April, 190*. (From Our Own Corbkspoxdfnt.) WELLINGTON, January 30. Lord Ranfurly's term of office has been extended to 1904. It will be remembered that some time ago the Premier intimated that the Government had requested the Home authorities to extend Lord Ranfurly'9 term of office as the Governor of New Zealand. This request has been graciously acceded to, and the Secretary of State for the Colonies has signified his Majesty's appro\al. The original commission.
