He thought' it their duty to uphold the honour of the nation, and moved — " That this council demres to place on recard its indignation at the gross and baseless libels on Home and colonial foop« recently published in foreign newspaper", and it^ admiration of the firm and dignified attitude of the Tmp rial Gi;\ernnieiH with rcfeipnc-p to fie South Afiican war." The rcolution was carried unanimously and with applause.
