ASSOCIATION NOTES
Dunedin has suffered a severe loss in the departure of a few of its most prominent players — i.e., R. Nagle (Southern), Morrison and Harlow (Koslyn). TJie two 'former players, who are both representatives, have found their way to Wellington, •nd the latter to Christchurch.
A prominent local exponent of the game lias taken to a new departure in the shape of importing ee\eral of the latest made balls and boots. This is badly needed, and should prove a boon to those who" are eager to obtain them.
We are glad to learn (says Atheletic News) that the visit of Mr •A. E. Gibbs, of New Zealand, to this country has not been in vain, for the treasurer of the Australasian Association Foot}>nll Union has secured the services for the 'colonies of two capable coaches, an Englishtnan and a Scotsman. The former, Mr A. 'Ashbury. of Birmingham, goes out with Mr Gibbs when he returns on the Himalaya, which leaves London on the 29th in'.t. The Scotchman will not make his departure ■until July, and at present his name cannot be divulged, although he is a highly-capable femateur. We wish Mr Gibbs a pleasant Journey to his distant home, and we hope hat the Football Association will yet see Jheir way to organise an amateur team for .he colonies some day.
