hib left leg above the knee. Mr M'Kewen ha«^ been suffering for the past nine months with an ulcer below the knee, anel, in addition, had a tovch of paralysis in the same leg. About five months ago it was deemed advisable to have him removed to the Hospital, where, unfortunately. the patient gradually got worse instead of improving. A eonsulKtion was hfld last week, and it was decided to amputate the leg. The operation was successfully performed by Dr Barnett on Monday morning. »i:d from latest inquiries we gather that the patient is making favourable progress.
