SPRING. The river murmurs to the main From silvered slopes of snow. Ah! Love will weld his golden chain} AhJ surely she will feel my pain, And to these arms return again With face and soul aglow. SUMMER. The streamlet from its shaded spring Falls down to seels the see. • O linger, linger, -wherefore wing Your flight, delicious days! I'd sing The dreams of bliss ye take and bring— My love is here with, me. AUTUMST. Her children dabble in the brook Where swirled the swollen stream. She sings beneath the golden stock, Her face is like a fragrant book, Whereto -I turn whene'er I look For some delicious dream. — Charles Morrison. DecemToer 5, 1901.
