Fat Sheep.— For the week's supply 2888 were penned. The greater part were crossbred wethers, but only a limited number of these were really prime. Competition for the latter lay between the trade and a large exporter, vho got the nmjOTity for the works. Prices for best lines were fully equal to last week's market, and in gome instances showed a slight advance. On the other hand, unfinished wethers, owing to the scarcity of feed, were isther neglected, and when sales were made lower prices had to be accepted. The few ewes yarded were mostly of excellent quality, and sold well. Best crossbred wethers sold at 18s to 19s 6d; 1 pen extra heavy, at 23s 6d , 2 pena extra prime, at 20s 3d and 21s 6d , useful butchers' wethers, 16s to 17s 9d ; other wethers, 13s to 15s 9d : extra prime ewes, 16s to 18s 9d. other ew, 12s 6d to 14a. Pigs.— ls6 yarded. The demand, as usual, was good, and prices were distinctly in favour of sellers for porkers. Suckers sold irom 5^ 6d to 12s Sd ; slips, 13s to 16s ; stores, 18s' to 21s 6d ; porkers, 24s to 31s ; baconers, 28s to 455 ; extra heavy, 55s to 625. C'ountiy Sales.— The Farmers' Agency Comp<«.>- leport having held a displenibhmg sale for Mi Robert Robinson, jun., at Otskia-, on Tuesday last, 10th inst. There was a very laige attendance of the public, who competed for a'l the lots with spirit, resulting in everything (with the exception of some young cattle) being =old at lull market rates. The following is a list oi the prices obtained: —245 fat and toward wetheis at 17s Id; 206 store wethers at 13s; 64 store v.-ethers at 10s 8d; 94 small hoggets at 9s 3d ; 330 crossbred ewes at l^s; 94 merino wethers at 10s 9d; 10 steers at £4 10s, 25 dairy cows from £4 to £6 10s; 9 springing heifers* from £3 lCs to £ 4 ss ; 7 dry cows at £3 10s ; 57 young cattle to £2 10s ; shorthorn bull at £G 7s 6d; 20 pigs to 255; 7 draught mares and gelding to £40 10s; 2 two-year-old draught colts to £27; 4 one-year-old draught coils to £17: light harness horses to £23; tv. o year-old light harness horses to £12.
Grain. — Wheat: Prime milling and fowls' feed readily sold at late rntes. Prime, 2s 9cl to *2s lOd; medium. 2a Sd to 2s 9d ; fowls' feed, 2s Gii to 23 7Jd; broken. 2s Id to 2s 3d per bu9hei (sacks sn). Oats : Market decidedly easier, and buyers are not operating- freely. Prime milling, 2s 4d ; good feed, 2? .3d ; medium, 2 3 to 'is ljd per bushel («»cks oxti<M ; seed lines a shade more.
Chaff. — Prime very scarce, and readily sold at i' 3 10s ; medium, £3 to £3 5« ; inferior, £2 10a to £2 153 ton (sacks extra).
Potatoes. — Buyers are rot so keen, and in consequence lower values have to be taken. Prime Derwents, £0 to £5 5s ; southerns, £4 15s per ton (sacks in) ; seed lines a '.hade more.
Sheepskins. — Fairly-sized catalogues wer« offered on Tuesday, when the attendance of buyers was good, and likewise competition was more spirited than usual.
Rabbitskias. — All coming forv.-sid meet with. ready sale at late quotations. Hides are eagerly competed for at late rates. Fat.- -Rough fat, 12a 6d ; prime rendered, 189 Gd ; medium, 13s 6d to las 6d per cwt.

TATERI SPRING HORSE SALE
Messrs Donald Reid and Co. (Limited) report a& follows — We held a most successful sale at our Taien saleyaTds, Allanton, on Tuesday. The entry totalled 52, and of these about a. third were unbroken draught colts and fillies, and the balance mostly a^3d draught mares and geldings, and some usilul hack and light, 1 amccs horses. There were buyers present fiora Timaru. Central Otago, Biuce, Balclutha, Waiwera, and Dunedin, besides a large turnout of Taieri farmers. The demand was principally tor sound, young draughts, and, with few exceptions, all the horses answering this description changed hands at highly satisfactory puces. Two and three-year-old unbroken colts by Inzevar, bred by Mr John Bruce, realised £45 and i- 12,1 2, and another by Prime Minister £3G, other colts and fillies by Clydebank, Heart of Oak, Wallace, and " Bobbi? Burns found new owners at £40 to £23, aged heavy draughts, if fairly active, met a readysale at JE3G to £14. Sound young spring carters were wanted, and the few entered sold readily .it £26 to £16; but only a few hacks found pin chassis at £1& to £7 10a-
