•— 7 PARIS, September 12. The Porte and M. Tubim, a French banker, have arranged to settle the bankers' dispute ov a basis of the payment of £15-1,000 if France consents. [Ths criminal cbim was for &>OO,OOO. It was decided to settle it by arbitration.]

At the Wairoa Court the man C. MaxWell, charged with wounding Mr T. S. ftewitt with intent, was committed for trial.
