NOTES FROM ROXBURGH. (From Our Special Correspondent.) ROXBURGH, July 22.

The weathei still continues frosty, though not so severe as at the end of June.

The Golden Run dredge is repairing the tuckets, putting in uew bushes and some lips. The sand elevator has not yet been erected. The -Golden Bed dredge is going over a high Teef at present, and it will be three weeks or so before she gets on to the good wash. The "Golden Gate dredge had a. splendid retorn last week — viz., 40oz. ° I understand tha Moa Flat dredge will be shifted to another part of her claim shortly. There was no wash up last week. The Gold Queen dredge obtained 121oz last -week. She is dredging at a depth of 52ft, and can: ot bottom.

The Main Lead Hercules pontoons were successfully launched on Saturday afternoon. Some of the machinery has been fitted up on the Gold King dredge. Ihe staff will b increased at the end of the week.

The fitting up of the Ettnck machinery 19 advancing satisfactorily. The boiler for the Endeavour dredge was delivered during fch« week, and when fitted up the dredge will be practically finished. The directors have made a good choice in appointing Mr A. Rennie dredgemastei. I understand the Long Valley dredge makes a 6tart to-morrow. The greater portion of the machinery is in position on the Gold Deposit dredge. Most ot the machinery foz the Roxburgh Jubilee dredge is completed, and lying v Anderson and Co.'s" yard, Chnstchurch. The directors aie negotiating for the cheapest way oi bringing a large quantity down. The Gibb's Beach dredge is on lair wash, tind is working very steadily. The Teviot dredge had a better irfnrn -a-st week. She is working about one and a-h?lf miles above Roxburgh, neaier the v. cst s.do of the river, if au/ihuig.
