Wages rule as follows:—Ploughmen, 20s, 21s; contract rabbiters, 2d per skin ; farm couples, £70; station couples, £75; hotel porters, boots, bil-liard-markers, etc., from 15s to 255; fencers', 23 s; grooms and gardeners, 20s to 235; lads, nii'kers, 12s 6d to 15s; gardeners (daily), 7s; carters, 7s; waggon drivers (stations), 255; liousekecpers, 15s.
