Thos. Paterson and Co., Manse street, report w^rk ending July 23: — Fruit—We have every week a prime lot of assorted Sydney fruit. Apples Canteibury cookers, from 6s to 7s 6d case; dessert. 7s to 9s (choice samples have ready sale): Tasmanian. Spin., 8s 6d to lls ; stone pippin and French crab 9s to 10s; stunners, 9s to 10s 6d. Pears Canterbury and local cookers, 2d to 2Jd; dessert, 2id to sd. Bananas, IJd to 2*d. Oranges. Sydney, 4s 6d to 6s; mandarins, 4s 6d to 6s. Lemons- Massina, 16s to 20s; halves, 9s to 10s; Sydney, 6s to 7s. Pineapples, 12s per case. Produce.—Butter Fresh, from 8d to Is ; salt, 7d to Is 2d. Bacon: Rolls, 6d to '6Jd. Hams, 7d to 7^d. Pigs (in short supply), 3id to 3£d. Potatoes.—Derwents, £G to £6 10s for northern, £5 30s to £6 for southern. Onions, £10 to £11. Poultry.—Hens, 2s to 2s 6d; roosters. 2s 6d to 3s 6d. Ducks, 3s 6d to 4s 6d. Turkeys, 5d to 7d. We sell all descriptions of farm and dairy produce on commission, and receive poultry any day except Saturday.
