A SPELL OF BAD WEATHER. THE VISIT TO WESTRALIA. ADELAIDE, July 21. Owing to heavy weather the Ophir aad Royal Arthur, which sailed for Fremantle, had to return. PERTH, July 22. The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall landed at Albany. They proceeded by special train to Perth, arriving early this morning. The Britannic, with the Australian Bushmen, reached Albany at the same time as the Ophir. The royal party joined in the welcome to the returned troopers. The Governor and Ministers officially welcomed the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York this forenoon. There was a procession through gaily decorate-d and densely crowded streets from the railway station to the Town Hall, where the Duke was presented with an address of welcome. He afterwards viewed the friendly societies and Chinese and Afghans' procession, and attended the official dinner at Government House. At night the city was brilliantly illuminated. The display was imposing, and the enthusiasm unbounded. LONDON, July 21. The gunboat Thrush meets the Ophir with the royal party at Durban.

A meeting of the Royal Reception Executive Committee .vas held on Monday ; prepent — Messrs R. Chisholm (chairman), C. Speight, D. E. Iheomin, T. Scott. J. A. Park, G. C. Israel, J. Hutchison, C. W. Rattray, and E. F. Duthie (secretary). The committee went through the accounts, and passed them to the amount of £1282 7s 3d. The Secretary repotted that he had written to the various suburban borough councils asking them to forward cheques for the amounts of their respective guarantees. Wo feel perfectly unable, to express our thanks adequately. The reports of the children and of our representatives are of a most glowing description. The kindly interest of the members of your committee H-sss much appreciated. The eageU desire on your part to see that all was being done that could be done for the comforfc and welfare of the children was not lost oni our lepresentatives. To Mr Chapman our thanks are also due. His untiring interest in, and unflagging zeal for, the benefit of all stamps him as the right man in the right place. To the ladies who lent their services to the well-being of the children a special tribute is due. We would much like that each one could be thanked personally. To the Arthur street cadets we would like yoyrf to convey our thanks also. Their self-sacri-fice in the interests of our boys was worthy of admiration, and to the janitors for their efforts to make the children perfectly comfortable we would express our gratitude. The kindness and generosity la\iehed upon the children by all in cornection with the work at the Arthur street School on that occasion will long be remembered by those who experienced them. — On behalf of the committee, yours very sincerely.
