Tin —Spot £133 10s ; three months, £117 15a. July 17. At the tallow auctions 1625 cask? were offered, and 500 sold. Prices remain unchanged. A Victorian cargo of wheat was sold at 27a lOid - July 19. The Bank of England returns show! the stock of gold coin and bullion to be £35,482,000; reserve, £24,979,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 46.45. The notes in circulation total £30,395,000; public deposits, £12,859,000; other deposits, £40,742,000; Government securities, £17,944,000; other securities, £28,853,000. Three months' bills are discounted afc 2 | per cent. Quotations for Colonial Government stocks are subjoined, compared with those ruling at the close of last week : — •
The wheat market is firmer, but quiet. Australian parcels are quoted at 27s 3d« A cargo was sold at 28s. Copper, firm: Spot, £68 ss; three months, £68 10s. Tin : Market speculative ; spot, £128 10s; three months, £117 5s to £117 7§ 6d. Pig iron, £2 13s 3d. Lead, £12 ss. Sugar is steady. German, 8s 3d; firs€ marks, 11s. Consols are quoted at 93. July 21. At the periodical soles of sheepskins price'} were irregular. Two thousand fivo hundred and tea bales were offeied, and 2350 sold at pax* to id decline. Hemp: Sales were fair; Wellington April and June shipment, £2A 15s; May shipment, £25 10s. Tin: Spot is quoted at .£131; three months, £316 10s.
