Toinoana; """f rom London, via Sydney. LONDON, July 19.— Arrived: Tongariro, from Lyttelton. THE TYSER LINE. Messrs Hick, Swift, and Co. are advised fey the Auckland agents tliat the Tyser line Bteamer Tomoana arrived tliere on Friday night, and was berthed at 8 o'clock next morning. She is due at Port Chalmers on or about the 2nd prox. The s.s. Zealandia left for Sydney, via 'Auckland, m the 16th. A Press Association message of the 16th from Adelaide intimated that the Omrah is the first Orient liner to carry a Lascar crew. The Union Steam Ship Company's &teamehip Monowai, Captain M'Donald, with pascongers and cargo from Melbourne, via Hobart and the Bluff, arrived a* Port Chalmers at 7.30 a.m. on Wednesday. She left Melbourne at 5 p.m. of the 10th hist. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's c.p. Waiwera, Captain J. Stuart, arrived at Port Chalmers at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, and went alongside the Bowen pier to land cargo, of which she has about 2500 tons for this port. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamship Papanui, from the Bluff, arrived at Port Chalmers on Wednesday afternoon to take in a quantity of cargo for London. j The New Zealand Shipping Company's magnificent twin-screw steamer Rimutaka, Captain H. E. Greenstreet, from London, via the Cape of Good Hope and Ijobart, arrived off the heads on Wednesday morning, and anchored, waiting for the afternoon's tide, when she weighed and steamed ud the harbour, and was berthed at the George street pier. When coming up the harbour ehe was met and boarded by the health officer, Dr Hodges, who, finding all well, at once admitted her to pratique, and she was ipromptly cleared in by Mr Scott, the customs surveyor. In addition to her pasBengers, the Rimutaka brings 2792 tons of cargo for discharge at this port. It consists of 761 tons of dead weiarht, 1710 tons of measurement goods, an ci 321 tons of transhipments for Invercargill, Oamaiu, and 'Timaru. The s.s. Monowai left on Thursday afternoon for Sydney, for Wellington. \ Great activity prevailed among the shipping at Port Chalmers on Thursday, and few, if any, idle men were to be seen. The three ocean steamers, which represent a total of 20,336 fcms gross, were all busily engaged putting out or taking in cargo. Up to knock-off time on Thursday evening the B.s. Waiwera had put out nearly 1200 tons of cargo at the Bowen pier. There were four Home vessels, one coloiaial, and two coasters at the Port Chalmers wharves on Wednesday, the united gross tonnages of these seven vessels amounting to 27,9*1 tons. The s.s. Warrimoo left on Sunday morning for Lyttelton. The s.s. Mararoa, from Sydney, via Auckjand, arrived at the cross wharf at 9 a.m. on Sunday. She left Sydney on the 10th, arriving at Auckland on the 14th. The s.s. Waiwera ha^s put out nearly 2000 ions of cargo at the Bowen pier, and commenced taking in frozen rabbits on Saturday. The s.s. Rimutaka is making good progress with - the discharge of her Dunedin cargo, and is expected to leave Port Chalmers on Tuesday for Lytlelton and Wellington. Departures — Janet Nicoll, s.s., 496; Invercargill, s.s., 123; Zealandia, s.s., 1735; Monowai, s.s., 2137; Papanui, s.s., 6372; Corinna, s.s., 820; Moura," s «., 12*7; -Rimu, s.s., I*3; Warrimoo, s.s., 1897; 'Waihora, s.s., 1269;— total, 16,229 tons. The ship Fifeshire left the Bluff ye«terday for Port Chalmers, wr-eie she ■> lead c 5000 carcases of frozen mutton, 2000 crates frozen rabbits, and a quantity of general cargo. The Fifeshire goes from here to Timaru, Lyttfclton, and Wellington, sailing from the latter port for London on the Bth prox. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's 6.5. Waiwera was expected to complete the discharge of her inward cargo yesterday. She has taken in fiom this port some 11,000 srate3 of frozen rabbits.
