RUBY GOLD DREDGING COMPANY,
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Seeing that the above company are threatening pioceedmgs against shareholders, I would hke to ask the directors how they propose to put a dredge on the claim wi^h the capital at their disposal. The capital of the company (eo'itubuting) is £6500, of which something like .£5OO has already gone in fees, etc. There are a, large number ot shareholders who are unable to pay up, some of whom the compauy have forced into court and failed to get anything, which will reduce the capital to possibly £4500, or *5000 at the outside. This being so, where is the money to come from 9 If the directors have amy idea liow tliey are going to carry on, and would enlighten, the shareholders on the subject, no doubt they v;ould soon collect arrears. But we do not want any more Eichards's Beaches, BannockLurn Creeks, Lady Cardron?s, etc., unable to tiy the ground for want of funds. Better lose half now than the lot later on, and that is what will happen to the company unless the directors are better men than the ordinary run. — I am, et:., Shareholder.
