AN IMPORTANT DECISION.
LONDON. June 21. Justice M.ithew has decided that the Peninsular and Oriental Company is bound to provide Lascars with the same accommodation as other seamen. June 22 Mr Justice Mathew laid down that the Merchant Shipping Act governed the question, not the Indian Act. The Penin-* sular and Oriental Company -were bound tol provide crew space for Lascars in accord* ance with the English act. It was not ex« elusive legislation for Lascais.
