HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
The usual monthly meeting of the Ho=>p:iat Trustees -was held on "Wednesday afternoon , pie* 9cnt — Messrs P. Miller (in the chair), J. Smith, W. Wright, W. Wills, J. N. Blown, and J. Robin. A letter from Mr J. Green intimating his inability to attend on account of indisposition was received with regret. , The House Committee reported that they had decided to piocure white coats and slippers for the use of the student? m the ward*, the students bearing half the toat. This couiso was strongly recommended by a deputation from tho honorary medical staff. Mr Donald Murchison teudeied his resignation as head cook, and Mr Donald M'Ewan had been appointed to th' position. Nuise Cioodwin, in charge of Victoria "VYaid, tendered her resignation, which was accepted. The post-mortem table had been altered ir accordance with the suggestion of the pathologist. Ihe committee recommended the purchase of a Kny Spragu© water steriliser and filtei foi the opeiatmg table at a cost of £95. The following donations have been received — Miss Logan (RosJyn), one dozen port wine for tlie women's ward , Mrs Monkman, illustrated papers, Mr J. Yates, newspapers; Messrs Whitcombe and Tombs, books and illustrated papeis, Mr and Mis Theoimn, a box of confectionery for the children's ward. With reference to the purchase of the patent American, steriliser, the Chanman said that while it entsuled tUe expenditure of a large sum of: money, yet other people had got it, and they wanted to be up to toe maik. — The report was adopted.
The Finance Committee leported that salaries and accounts lor ii:iy, amounting to £6i7 Is Gd, wcie examined and passed for payment, subject to the appro lai of the tiustecs. The receipts for the month of May were as follows- — Jn patients, £68 6s Gd ; out patients, £8 8s ; donations, £0 18s Sd ; students' fees, £52 11s Gd; sales, £2 U 6d,- total, £137 6= 2d. The committee lecomme.ide-d that application be ma.de to the Hosp.tal Board for the usual monthly contribution of £450.
The following subscription 1 ? and donations were reported and received v<ith thanks- — £50 from the Ministering Children's League, per tlie lion, secretary (Mi^s Ada P. Eattray), for the endowment of a cot; £10, dividend from the Russell trust ; £]/), per Mr J. F. M. Fraser, in payment of Miss XeU Lanham's legacy; and £5, per Messrs Dalgety and Co., the usual halfyearly contribution from Mrs Mary Xicholls.
The Chairman mentioned that in connection with the royal visit a stand had been erected in front of the Hospital, and three flags had been purchasetfc- Some decorations in front of the building had also been arranged for, whicb would make a decent display at a small cost.
