JTunc 22. — A fire broke ou x early lust Sunday morning-, consuming two stacks of grain on Mr STames Real's farm — viz., a stack of oats, estimated to contain about ? bundled bags, artd a ■tick of wheat, estimated to thresh about 50
bags. Fortunately the weather was very calm at the time, for "there was a small stack of oata standing on the one side of the fire and on the other a stack ef hay, which were saved by some willing hands coming to the assistance of Mr Heal, and bj their efforts confining the fire to the two stacks. It is a mystery kow the fire originated, as everything about wa3 damp at the time. I believe there was a small insurance on the stacks, but I have not learned the amount nor the name of the office cencerned. Agricultural. — Tlie weather has been beautifully fine for the last few weeks— in fact, it has been more like spring than midwinter. Grass has commenced to grow, and the paddocks are green and spring-like m appearance. Farmers have been taking advantage of the tine veather to push on the ploughing. Threshing is pretty nearly finished, the last few weeks of fine weather having helped it on, as the mill people have be«n able to make steady time. Bunny.— Rabbit-trapping h»s been pretty successful during the fine weather, >md I hear ot .some farmers conirnencmg to lay poison soon, as it was thought it vas left too late la&i j ear viz , the month of August.
